    Small Hive Beetles....watch for them

I set up several 4-chamber mating nucs on June 14th and checked on them today. One had a frame of mixed brood and pollen that appears to have had SHB eggs laid in it. So far, I've seen only one live SHB this year, and this was my first ever infestation. The larvae feed on pollen and brood, and can really create a mess. If found, kill all aadult beetles, inspect all frames and freeze those infested for 48 hours, and remove the affected comb.
